Jaeger-LeCoultre

Jaeger-LeCoultre was founded in 1833 by Antoine LeCoultre in Le Sentier, Switzerland. The brand remained LeCoultre & Cie for decades, gaining recognition for its innovative movements and inventions.

The “Jaeger” part comes from Edmond Jaeger, a Paris-based watchmaker who specialized in ultra-thin movements. In the early 1900s, Jaeger challenged Swiss manufacturers to produce his designs. LeCoultre took on the challenge, and by 1937, the two names officially merged to become Jaeger-LeCoultre.

Today, the company is still based in Le Sentier and operates under the Richemont Group.
