Introduced: 2005

Purpose / Inspiration: The AMVOX line was born from Jaeger-LeCoultre’s partnership with Aston Martin, blending the world of luxury sports cars with cutting-edge Swiss horology. Unlike most automotive tie-ins, the AMVOX watches featured real mechanical innovation—including the vertical-trigger chronograph, a world-first system that let you start/stop/reset the chronograph by pressing the crystal. These watches were designed to match Aston’s mix of heritage and performance, with materials and design cues pulled straight from the dashboard.

Designer: Developed by JLC’s modern complications team in collaboration with Aston Martin; design overseen at Le Sentier, engineered to reflect Aston Martin interiors and performance cues

  • Later models up to 47mm (AMVOX7)

  • JLC Caliber 751E (chrono)
  • Caliber 988 (tourbillon GMT in AMVOX3)
  • AMVOX2: Features patented vertical-trigger chronograph system—no pushers needed
  • Power reserve: 65–72 hours depending on model

Bezel: Smooth fixed bezel, large domed sapphire crystal that doubles as the control mechanism in AMVOX2 and AMVOX7

Dial options:

  • Skeletonized dials (AMVOX2, 3, and 7)
  • Applied numerals inspired by Aston Martin speedometers
  • Lume-filled markers, central chronograph hands
  • Perforated dial elements reminiscent of sport car design

Water resistance: 50m–100m depending on model

Bracelet:

  • Leather straps with Alcantara or perforated racing stitching
  • Titanium or ceramic deployant buckles
  • Some editions available with integrated rubber straps

Discontinued, but highly collectible—especially AMVOX2 and 3

Why it matters: The AMVOX wasn’t just branding. It was real mechanical innovation, wrapped in a driving glove. From its vertical chronograph system to tourbillons with GMT, it showed JLC wasn’t afraid to push watchmaking into the fast lane—without ever leaving fine horology behind.
