IWC – International Watch Company – was founded in 1868 by Florentine Ariosto Jones, an American watchmaker, in Schaffhausen, Switzerland. Unlike most Swiss brands founded by locals, IWC was created to blend Swiss craftsmanship with American engineering. Today, IWC is still based in Schaffhausen and is part of the Richemont Group.
