Duomètre

Introduced: 2007

Purpose / Inspiration: The Duomètre was Jaeger-LeCoultre’s answer to a centuries-old problem: how to add complications without sacrificing timekeeping precision. The solution? Two independent gear trains—one powers the time, the other powers the complication—both regulated by a shared escapement. This twin-engine layout lets you run a chronograph, moonphase, or world time without interfering with the accuracy of the watch. Pure horological flex, backed by real function.

Designer: Developed fully in-house by Jaeger-LeCoultre’s complications division in Le Sentier—aimed at purists who value mechanical innovation over hype

Case size:

Why it matters: The Duomètre is one of the most technically sophisticated watches JLC has ever made. It’s not for first-time buyers—it’s for collectors who understand the challenge of mechanical purity, and want a watch that solves problems most people don’t even know exist.

Two Barrels. One Escapement. Zero Compromises.

One Train for Time. One for Complications. No Interference.

Symmetry + Substance: A masterclass in layout and movement architecture
