Vacheron Constantin was founded in 1755 by Jean-Marc Vacheron in Geneva, Switzerland, making it one of the oldest continuously operating watchmakers in the world.

In 1819, François Constantin joined the firm, giving the company its full name. Today, Vacheron Constantin is still headquartered in Geneva and operates as part of the Richemont Group, known for its high complications and classic design heritage.
