Introduced: Ongoing — launched in the 1990s and refined over the 2000s as a tribute series to Vacheron’s archival masterpieces
Purpose / Inspiration:
Historiques isn’t a single watch—it’s a philosophy. A living tribute to Vacheron Constantin’s archive of 20th-century innovation. It brings past icons back to life, using today’s finishing and movement tech while preserving the quirks, charm, and proportions that made them matter in the first place. From triple calendars to officer’s watches to wild asymmetry, every Historiques release feels like a time capsule—with Geneva Seal polish and collector-grade mechanicals. These are for people who don’t want the new thing. They want the old thing—made perfectly.
Designer:
Each model reinterprets an original Vacheron reference—designed by modern in-house teams with strict historical adherence and full haute horology finishing
Case size (varies by model):
- 35mm–42mm depending on reference
- Designed to match or subtly modernize the dimensions of original vintage models
- Slim profiles, short lugs, curved cases
- Each case is model-specific (no shared template across the line)
Case options:
- 18k pink gold, white gold, platinum
- High-polish or brushed edges depending on vintage accuracy
- Sapphire crystal front and back (domed on some models)
- Most feature sapphire caseback to show Geneva Seal movements

- 4400 AS (manual wind, used in American 1921 and others)
- 1142 (manual chronograph movement based on Lemania architecture)
- 4400 QC, 2460 QCL (triple calendar & moonphase)
- All models are mechanical, all hand-finished, all Geneva Seal certified
- Power reserve typically 48–65 hours
- No quartz. No compromises.
Bezel:
- Fixed bezels—polished or stepped depending on model
- Some domed or coin-edged to match archival details
Dial options (varies by model):
- American 1921: off-centered dial, Art Deco numerals
- Triple Calendrier 1942: full Arabic numerals with blue + red calendar markings
- Cornes de Vache 1955: classic twin-register chronograph with “cow horn” lugs
- Toledo 1951: curved “TV” case with engraved sector dial
- Dials are always specific to the original design, often with modern tweaks to proportions, lume, or legibility
Water resistance:
- 30m–50m depending on case
- Dress-level protection—not meant for sport use
Bracelet:
- Typically alligator leather strap, matched to case tone
- Hand-stitched, square scale, curved for case fit
- Gold deployant buckle or tang clasp with Maltese cross motif
Still in production, but each model is produced in limited runs or boutique-only availability—never mass-produced, and often quietly retired after a few years
Why it matters:
The Historiques collection is for purists. For collectors. For the ones who’ve read auction catalogs, not just marketing emails. These watches don’t try to be modern—they celebrate what made Vacheron matter before hype culture. When you wear a Historiques model, you’re not wearing something inspired by the past. You’re wearing the past—finished with today’s best hands, tools, and time.
Heritage You Can Hold. Accuracy You Can See.
Old Soul, New Movement. The Archive, Reborn.
