Introduced: 2018 — Vacheron Constantin’s modern reinterpretation of their reference 6073 from 1956
Purpose / Inspiration:
The Fiftysix was designed to bridge a gap—between tradition and modernity, between haute horology and daily wear. Inspired by a mid-century model released in (you guessed it) 1956, it pulls from the era’s soft geometry and clean lines. But it’s not a reissue—it’s a reinterpretation. The Fiftysix keeps the signature Vacheron Maltese cross lugs and mechanical cred but wraps it in something younger, smoother, and easier to wear every day. Dressy? Sure. But approachable, automatic, and not afraid of the 21st century.
