Omega was founded in 1848 by Louis Brandt in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. Originally assembling key-wound pocket watches, the company moved to Bienne/Biel, Switzerland in 1880, where it remains headquartered today.
The name Omega was adopted in 1903, after the success of their revolutionary 19-ligne “Omega” caliber. Today, Omega is one of the most recognized Swiss watch brands globally and is a key part of the Swatch Group.
