Purpose / Inspiration: The Speedmaster was originally designed as a racing chronograph—hence the name “Speed.” But its destiny changed forever when it became flight-qualified by NASA in 1965 and later worn on the Moon in 1969. It’s now one of the most iconic watches ever made. It’s not just a chronograph. It’s the Moonwatch—and a symbol of reliability under the most extreme conditions ever faced.

Designer: Originally designed by Claude Baillod for Omega’s Lemania-based movement, with a tachymeter bezel, triple-register dial, and lyre lugs—a shape now instantly recognizable
