Imperiale

Introduced: 1994 (original), reimagined in 2010

Purpose / Inspiration: The Imperiale collection was designed to evoke royal elegance—with shapes, textures, and motifs inspired by ancient imperial emblems, robes, and architecture. It’s a women’s collection built for presence and poise—refined, luxurious, and always feminine with a sense of strength behind the softness.

Designer: Chopard’s in-house team under Caroline Scheufele, aimed at capturing regal femininity in a modern form

Case size: Available in 29mm, 36mm, 40mm, and 42mm sizes

Case options: Stainless steel, two-tone, 18k rose, yellow, or white gold; full pavé and amethyst cabochon editions

Powered by:

  • Swiss quartz (29mm and some 36mm)
  • Automatic ETA-based and in-house movements (e.g., Chopard 01.03-C) in 36mm+ versions
  • High-end versions include moonphase and tourbillon complications

Bezel: Polished or diamond-set; wide, rounded, and often accented with lugs shaped like ancient column capitals

Dial options: Mother-of-pearl, silvered, guilloché, or amethyst-toned; Roman numerals, sunray textures, and pointed dauphine hands

Water resistance: 50m

Bracelet: Steel, gold, or leather strap—often matched with imperial purple accents; signature cabochon crown (frequently set with amethyst)

Still in production, part of Chopard’s core women’s lineup with regular new references

Why it matters: Imperiale stands out by embracing femininity and formality. It’s luxurious, symbolic, and not shy about showing detail. A go-to for those who want a watch that looks like royalty—but still wears like a modern timepiece.

Fit for a Queen (Literally): Roman numerals, curved lugs, and cabochon crowns

Elegance with Structure: Inspired by empires, built for everyday majesty

Mother-of-Pearl, Gold, Amethyst: Not just materials—artistic choices

Powerful Femininity: It’s not delicate—it’s dignified
