Ice Cube

Introduced: 1999

Purpose / Inspiration: The Ice Cube collection was built on geometry, minimalism, and modernity. Inspired by tiny ice cubes—perfectly square, cool, and reflective—this watch was designed as a statement of quiet luxury. Edgy, sleek, and fashion-forward, it blended high jewelry aesthetics with architectural form.

Designer: Developed under Caroline Scheufele’s creative direction, as part of Chopard’s push into bold, contemporary design for a younger luxury audience

Case size: Small and midsize; typically ~25mm–30mm square cases

Case options: 18k yellow, white, or rose gold; stainless steel; some versions with diamond-set case and bracelet links

Powered by:

  • Swiss quartz movements (ETA-based)
  • Very limited mechanical or haute joaillerie editions exist

Bezel: Integrated into the square case—polished or diamond-set

Dial options: Minimalist—silver, mother-of-pearl, or black lacquer; no numerals, only simple markers or logo-only

Water resistance: 30m

Bracelet: Signature “ice cube” link bracelet—composed of tiny polished cubes; also available on leather or satin strap

Still in production, both as a jewelry line and in limited watch references

Why it matters: Ice Cube wasn’t just a watch—it was a design object. Its sharp edges, minimalist dial, and geometric rhythm gave it a bold, modern identity. Perfect for those who wanted Cartier-level elegance but in a sharper, cooler package.

Geometry Meets Jewelry: A watch built from polished cubes, not circles

Minimalist but Rich: Clean dial, sculpted bracelet—nothing extra

Cool by Design: Inspired by ice—elegant, reflective, and perfectly modern

Luxury with Edge: A timepiece for those who don’t follow the round watch crowd
