Introduced: 2012
Purpose / Inspiration: The Superfast collection was Chopard’s boldest tribute to modern motorsport—bigger, louder, and more technical than Mille Miglia. It was designed for true car lovers, with oversized cases, vertical engine-fin-style grooves, and Chopard’s in-house automatic movements. It wasn’t vintage-inspired—it was track-ready and unapologetically aggressive.
Designer: Developed by Chopard Manufacture under Karl-Friedrich Scheufele’s leadership, as part of the Classic Racing lineup—but focused on modern speed rather than nostalgia
Case size: 41mm (Power Control) to 45mm (Chrono and Automatic); XL wrist presence across the board
Case options: Stainless steel, titanium, and 18k rose gold; with DLC coatings on some special editions
Powered by:
- In-house COSC-certified movements including:
- Chopard 01.01-M (Automatic)
- Chopard 03.05-M (Flyback Chronograph)
- Chopard 01.02-M (Power Control with reserve indicator)
- All feature Geneva Seal-level finishing and extended power reserves (60h+)
Bezel: Fixed bezel with exposed screws—aggressive, industrial look
Dial options: Vertical grooves (meant to evoke air-cooled engine blocks), openworked or bold matte black, racing numerals, and tire-track motifs; subdials mimic car instruments
Water resistance: 100m
Bracelet: Rubber strap styled after slick racing tires, or leather with contrast stitching; occasional bracelet versions in full metal
Still in limited production, though newer focus has shifted toward Mille Miglia and Alpine Eagle lines
Why it matters: Superfast was Chopard’s power play—a modern, masculine, movement-driven race watch that screamed performance. For collectors, it remains the most “engineered” Chopard sports watch ever made.
Built Like a Racecar: Grooved dial, screw-down case, COSC inside
Engine Under Glass: Transparent caseback reveals the full in-house movement
Flyback, Power Reserve, Chrono: Not just features—functional tools
Bigger, Louder, Faster: For the wrist that wants to roar, not whisper
