Starliner

Introduced: Early 2000s (approx. 2003–2004)

Purpose / Inspiration: The Starliner was Breitling’s luxury-forward watch for women, blending the brand’s signature tool-watch DNA with a jewelry-like presence. It was built for women who wanted a real Breitling—COSC-certified and water-resistant—but with elegant proportions and gemstone options.

Designer: Developed during the Schneider family era, as part of the Windrider collection, alongside the Callistino and Lady J, with more emphasis on fashion and polish.

Case size: 30mm, Breitling’s smallest offering at the time

Case materials: Stainless steel, two-tone, and full gold

Bezel options: Smooth, engraved, or diamond-set

Powered by Breitling Caliber 71 – SuperQuartz™, COSC-certified

Dials: Mother-of-pearl, white, blue, black—with Roman numerals, diamond markers, or polished indexes

Water-resistant to 100m, with screw-down crown and sapphire crystal

Offered on Pilot bracelet or leather strap

Discontinued in the mid-2010s

Replaced in spirit by newer women’s models like the Galactic 29 and Chronomat 32/36

Still sought after in the pre-owned market for its mix of tool-watch performance and refined finish

Beauty That’s Built Tough: It shines, but it’s still a Breitling.

COSC-Certified, Even in Quartz: No compromises—this watch earned its wings.

Small Case, Big Statement: Compact and powerful, with luxury details that catch light.

Jewelry That Tells the Truth: Diamond bezel, steel backbone.
