Haute Joaillerie

Introduced: First pieces began appearing in the late 1990s, with major launches and one-off creations continuing through the 2000s and 2010s.

Purpose / Inspiration: These are one-of-a-kind or ultra-limited watches, blending high jewelry (haute joaillerie) techniques with fine horology. Think: watches that wear like red carpet pieces—meant to stun, dazzle, and command presence.

Designer: No single designer—each watch is a collaboration between AP’s master watchmakers and expert gem-setters. Some designs are attributed to partnerships or internal “jewelry think tanks.”

Materials & Features: Fully diamond- or gemstone-set cases, bracelets, and dials using techniques like invisible setting, snow-setting, and pavé. Crafted in gold or platinum. Movements range from simple quartz to high-complication mechanicals.

Discontinuation Status: Each piece or micro-series is typically a limited production or unique piece. No full collection is regularly produced; new pieces are introduced sporadically for exhibitions, anniversaries, or VVIP clients.

Luxury Without Restraint: This is not “dressy”—this is diamonds-so-bright-you-need-shades.

One Wrist, One Piece: Each creation is nearly always a unique piece or part of a whisper-quiet micro-series.

Craft Above Complication: Where some brands show skill with gears, AP shows off with a gem-setter’s loupe and a jeweler’s hand.

Not for Everyone: This is not the watch for boardrooms. It’s for the backseat of a Rolls, the front row of Paris Fashion Week, or the center spotlight at a gala.
