Cockpit

Introduced: Early 2000s

Purpose / Inspiration: Designed as a clean, bold, non-chronograph alternative to the Chronomat and Chrono Cockpit, the Cockpit was for professionals who wanted aviation presence without extra complications. It delivered rugged simplicity, paired with Breitling’s signature pilot styling.

Designer: Developed during the Schneider family era, as part of the Windrider collection, alongside Starliner and Chrono Cockpit.

Materials & Features:

  • 39mm case (some variants up to 41mm), in steel, two-tone, or gold.
  • Powered by Breitling Caliber 49 (ETA 2892-A2 automatic), COSC-certified.
  • Dial offered in black, blue, silver, and white—with large Roman numerals or baton markers, and a date window at 3 o’clock.
  • Often paired with the Pilot bracelet or leather strap, with a 200m water resistance rating.

Discontinuation Status: Discontinued by mid-2010s. Elements of its styling live on in modern Chronomat and Galactic lines.

No Chrono. No Nonsense. Just clean, confident, COSC-certified timekeeping.

Everyday Aviator: Built with pilot DNA, but pared back for daily wear.

Professional, Not Pretentious: You didn’t need subdials to prove you knew your time.

Versatile Design: Bold enough for a flight deck, refined enough for a desk.
