Chronospace

Introduced: 2010

Purpose / Inspiration: Part of Breitling’s Professional series, the Chronospace was created for aviators and tech-driven users who needed digital functionality and high legibility in a tough case. It revived the analog-digital hybrid format from watches like the B-1 and Airwolf, but with modern design and updated electronics.

Designer: Developed in-house during the final years of the Schneider family era, as a successor to the Airwolf and the larger B-1 platform.

Materials & Features:

  • 48mm stainless steel case—bold and oversized for cockpit visibility.
  • Powered by the Breitling Caliber 78 (SuperQuartz™, ETA-based)—extremely accurate, thermocompensated quartz.
  • Features include:
    ▪️ Chronograph,
    ▪️ Dual time zones,
    ▪️ UTC,
    ▪️ Countdown timer,
    ▪️ Alarm,
    ▪️ Backlight,
    ▪️ Perpetual calendar.
  • Twin LCD screens paired with analog hands, all crown-controlled.
  • Mesh bracelet or rubber strap options.

Discontinuation Status: Discontinued in the late 2010s. No direct replacement, though its role was absorbed by digital-first models like the Exospace B55 and Emergency II.

Brains Behind the Brawn: It’s not just big—it’s brilliant.

Digital Cockpit on Your Wrist: All the tools you’d want in-flight—without the glass canopy.

Quartz With Authority: SuperQuartz doesn’t lose time. It keeps you ahead of it.

Oversized for Oversight: Built for those who need to see—and act—fast.
