Cobra

Introduced: Early-to-mid 1970s (notably between 1970 and the late ’70s)

Purpose / Inspiration: A bold, avant-garde dress watch designed to blend fine watchmaking with high-jewelry aesthetics. The snake-like, integrated bracelet gives it its nickname—Cobra—with styling that evokes movement, luxury, and power.

Movement & Designer: Powered by the ultra-thin automatic Caliber 2121 (the same movement used in early Royal Oaks). No single designer is officially credited, but it’s part of AP’s experimental approach to luxury watches in that era.

Materials & Sizes: Crafted in 18k yellow or white gold, sometimes with diamond indices. Case sizes ranged from ~26mm to 35mm.

Discontinuation Status: Discontinued by the late 1980s or early 1990s. No reissues. Highly collectible and rarely seen on the market.
