500 Fathoms

Introduced: 2007

Purpose / Inspiration: Built as a bigger, bolder evolution of the legendary Fifty Fathoms line. Designed specifically for professional deep-sea divers and collectors who wanted maximum depth rating, size, and technical performance. The name “500 Fathoms” reflects its 1,000-meter (3,300 ft) water resistance—over 3x the depth of the original Fifty Fathoms.

Designer: Developed in-house by Blancpain’s dive watch engineering team, building off the success of the Fifty Fathoms revival from 2003.

Materials & Features: Massive 48mm titanium case, automatic helium escape valve, sapphire bezel, and high-legibility dial. Powered by the Caliber 1315 with a 5-day power reserve. Some limited editions featured exotic materials and custom engraving.

Discontinuation Status: Discontinued—the core model quietly exited production in the mid-2010s. No current 500 Fathoms in Blancpain’s catalog, though the Fifty Fathoms line remains active.

Dive Watch Domination: Made for those who laugh at desk-diver watches. This one goes deeper—literally.

Built Like a Submarine: Lightweight titanium, brutal scale, full-on saturation dive features.

Fifty’s Bigger, Badder Brother: It’s what the Fifty Fathoms would be after years of combat training.

Gone, Not Forgotten: Discontinued. Hard to find. Serious collector flex.
