Villeret

Introduced: 1980s (modern collection), though named after Blancpain’s birthplace in 1735—the village of Villeret, Switzerland.

Purpose / Inspiration: Created to represent Blancpain’s most traditional, elegant, and timeless collection. It’s the purest expression of classical Swiss watchmaking, with an emphasis on clean design, fine finishing, and traditional complications.

Designer: Developed by Blancpain’s in-house team post-brand revival in the 1980s under Jean-Claude Biver and Jacques Piguet—intended to revive high horology in the mechanical age after the Quartz Crisis.

Materials & Features: Features slim round cases, Roman numerals, double-stepped bezels, and leaf hands. Offered in precious metals and steel. Complications include ultra-thin movements, moonphases, complete calendars, perpetual calendars, tourbillons, and minute repeaters—many using in-house calibers from the caliber 11x and 13x families.

Discontinuation Status: Still in production and remains Blancpain’s flagship dress line. Continuously updated with new calibers and dial styles while staying true to its classical roots.

Class, Defined: This isn’t just a dress watch—it’s what other dress watches aspire to be.

Back to the Beginning: Named after the village where Blancpain began. A tribute, and a standard.

Complication Meets Simplicity: No flash, no clutter—just brilliant mechanics in a timeless shell.

Wears With Purpose: Every detail says restraint, tradition, and confidence without noise.
