Trinity

Introduced: Early 1990s (watch version), inspired by the Trinity ring from 1924

Purpose / Inspiration: The Trinity watch was born from one of Cartier’s most iconic jewelry designs—the Trinity ring, made of three interlocking gold bands symbolizing love, friendship, and fidelity. The timepiece carried that same poetic symbolism, wrapping it in a soft, minimalist, and distinctly Cartier form. It wasn’t built to be flashy—it was meant to feel personal.

Designer: Based on Louis Cartier’s original 1924 Trinity concept; the watch version was adapted by Cartier’s in-house design team as part of the Les Must era

Case size: Small to midsize, ~24mm–30mm diameter; compact, elegant proportions

Case options: 18k yellow, rose, and white gold—often all three in one (tricolore); also seen in solid gold or two-tone variations

Powered by Cartier quartz movement (ETA-based)

Bezel: Round and smooth, often with three interwoven gold rings—just like the Trinity ring

Dial options: Clean silver or champagne dial, minimalist design with no numerals or markers, blued hands

Water resistance: Light (30m); intended for elegance, not activity

Bracelet: Typically worn on a leather strap or gold bracelet matching the case metal(s)

Discontinued, though revived occasionally in limited editions or jewelry-watch capsule collections

Why it stood out: The Trinity watch wasn’t about timekeeping precision—it was about emotion and elegance. A wearable piece of Cartier’s poetic legacy, tied to one of its most meaningful symbols.

Three Golds, One Story: Love, friendship, and fidelity wrapped around your wrist

As Classic as the Ring: The Trinity’s DNA, now in timepiece form

Minimalist Magic: No numerals. No fuss. Just Cartier in its purest shape

Emotional Elegance: A jewelry watch with meaning behind the metal
