Ballon Blanc

Introduced: Circa 2014

Purpose / Inspiration: A refined spin-off of the Ballon Bleu, the Ballon Blanc was designed to embody Cartier’s vision of feminine luxury—soft curves, jeweled elegance, and simplicity. The signature offset diamond at 4 o’clock gave it its name: Blanc (white) for the brilliant-cut stone that looked like it was floating.

Designer: Created during Cartier’s Richemont expansion into more distinct, standalone women’s lines—meant to complement jewelry collections like Diamants Légers

Case size: Available in ~26mm, 30mm, and 36mm

Case options: Polished stainless steel or 18k white/rose gold—often diamond-set

Powered by Cartier quartz movement (ETA-based)

Bezel: Smooth, rounded bezel; many models featured full pavé-set diamonds

Dial options: Silvered sunray or mother-of-pearl with minimalist Roman numerals, often with no second hand—clean and elegant

Water resistance: 30m—intended for elegance, not sport

Bracelet: Polished metal bracelet or satin/leather strap depending on configuration

Still in production in select markets and boutiques

Why it stands out: It’s not just a watch—it’s a jewel. Cartier removed clutter and added one radiant stone that says more than a dozen complications ever could.

A Diamond for Time: Offset at 4 o’clock like a secret wink, not center-stage bling

Curves in All the Right Places: A smaller, sleeker cousin of the Ballon Bleu

Minimal by Design: The dial keeps things clean, so the case and stone do the talking

Effortless Gift-Worthy Elegance: Jewelry you can wear every day—and it tells time
